Willow Creek:

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center may have a long name but it comes with a long list of amenities to go with it.  The newly renovated all-suite hotel awaits your arrival at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Greenville, South Carolina.  Each suite at the hotel has a separate master bedroom, living area with sofa bed, two TVs, full size refrigerator, wet bar and microwave oven.  These suites are large and the living room area offers a unique space not normally found in standard hotels.   A fitness center, indoor or outdoor pools, tennis courts and multiple restaurants and bars are among the available offerings.  Another popular perk of an Embassy Suites stay is the nightly Complimentary Evening Reception with snacks and drinks for resort guests.  Additionally, guests enjoy a complimentary, made to order breakfast on each morning of their stay.  No need to hop in the car.  You’re already there.

And while you’re there, you’ll enjoy the convenience of this resort’s par 72-championship golf course, “The Preserve at Verdae”.  Designed by William Byrd amidst the lush Carolina forest and brooks, this layout is as scenic as it is  challenging.  This course has been chosen as one of the host course for the 2016 Web.com BMW Charity Pro-Am beginning May 19th this spring.  The practice facilities include a multi-level driving range, practice bunker, chipping area and putting green.  The clubhouse includes a fully appointed pro shop and includes “The Grille and Deck”, a restaurant overlooking the practice putting green.  All this is only a few steps from the hotel.

Also close by is the Willow Creek Golf Club.  Situated in Greer, South Carolina, this Tom Jackson design opened in 1995.  Over his three decade career, Tom Jackson has been responsible for building some of the Southeast’s premier private, semi-private, resort and public layouts, including the “Cliffs at Glassy” and former senior tour stop, “Prestonwood Country Club”.  In 2007, his work  landed him in the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame.  Willow Creek’s par 72 layout utilizes the natural terrain and gives the player the feeling of a much older, more traditional golf course.  Willow Creek has gained the reputation as the “Upstate’s” friendliest golf course giving members and guests an experience that keeps them coming back for more.

  • The hotel offers very nice all-suite accommodations and they really want to work with our group.
  • The Preserve at Verdae is a very nice Golf Course and is on the resort property, so it convenient.
  • Plenty to do for non-golfers. We can set up Museum & Art Gallery tours, we can even tour the BMW Factory. So when you combine all this with shopping and history, the Non-golfers will be busy.
  • This is a venue that we recommend hosting a CSGA Fall Event. The CSGA has been here in the past but it’s been 8 years, so now is a good time to return.

Greenville offers so much for Non-Golfers:

Overview:

The Preserve at Verdae:

Designed by noted course architect Tom Jackson, this outstanding, 18-hole layout plays well for all skill levels. Willow Creek, with its manicured course conditions and challenging design, provides a fun, player-friendly experience for beginners. Advanced players will enjoy numerous risk-reward opportunities that are sure to provide an exciting, memorable golf experience. Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.
